Grand Isle’s management team represents experienced engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs with more than 120 years combined work experience in Oil and Gas development, including offshore platform finance, construction, and operations.

Robert Shivers, D. Eng.
Grand Isle LNG CEO

Robert is an energy industry visionary recognized for his patented technologies and practical solutons. He has over 35 years experience designing and managing complex platform projects in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea for Texaco and ATP Oil & Gas, for whom he managed their first deepwater project in the Gulf of Mexico. He holds over 30 US patents.

David Chung
President

David is the founder and former CEO of Annova LNG, which he led from concept to financing and eventual acquisition by Exelon Generation, a Fortune 100 company. As Annova CEO, David provided executive leadership in the project’s strategic development through the FERC filing and response period. David has 29 years’ industry experience and earned a MS in Statistics from Columbia University.

Stan Mendenhall
Chief Operating Officer

Stan is an executive with over 28 years of Oil & Gas experience in offshore and upstream contracting. He was co-founder and CEO of Bluewater Industries, a marine general contractor. Under Stan’s leadership, Bluewater constructed and installed over 60 turnkey platform projects in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea ranging from $5million to over $1billion across water depths from 10 ft. to 5000 ft.

David Wilde
Chief Financial Officer

David was co-founder and former President/CFO of Millennium Offshore Group, an upstream company where he led in the acquisition of 30 Gulf of Mexico blocks and eventual sale of its reserves for a 253X ROI for its investors. In 30 years in the industry, David has raised growth and acquisition capital, and has managed corporate development and strategic planning for public and private companies. David holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Richard Michel
Chief Engineer

Richard is a naval architect and marine engineer. Richard spent over 30 years in the design, construction and installation of mobile offshore drilling and production platforms in locations all over the world. He has engineered, constructed, led cost management and project management of ship-shaped, jack up, semisubmersible and SPAR / Deep Draft floaters.

Edward Miller
Director, Regulatory Affairs

As a corporate environmental manager and engineering consultant for more than 30 years, Edward Miller has been primarily responsible for managing technical teams of in-house and consulting staff to achieve client/corporate objectives for various environmental and site development projects. Responsibilities included management of technical teams to acquire all necessary permits and approvals for large proposed industrial facilities, including compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
